The teams NorCal Adventure Racing and Odyssey USA, which have both participated in multiple past-editions of the Patagonian Expedition Race, merged for the 2016 edition to combine their experience and leadership in an attempt to finally reach the podium. All four members have previous PER experience, with Tim Kuenster, who participated in 2010, 2011, and 2012, captaining the newly-formed NorCal Odyssey. He will be accompanied by fellow 2012-teammate Wendy Welling, who also participated in 2013 as well. Previous Odyssey USA captain, Mark Lattanzi, who competed against Tim and Wendy in 2012, has participated three times, including 2009 and 2011, where he competed alongside of the team’s fourth member, Peter Spagnoli. As both teams have yet to reach the podium as separate entities, the joined forces may have finally found the last missing piece of the puzzle to be among those competing for a top-three finish.
