Internship as WEBMASTER

Location: Punta Arenas, Región de Magallanes y Antarctica Chilena, Patagonia, Chile
Duration: flexible duration and year-round placing (min. 3 months)
Internship description:
Webmaster for www.patagonianexpeditionrace.com & www.nomadas.cl including assignments such as:

  • Overhaul of the global design of our websites, especially the photo gallery
  • Maintain the websites up to date
  • Prepare for the next edition of the Patagonian Expedition Race in February 2010
  • Manage live coverage of the race on the website, incl. satellite tracking, video clips, photographs, blogs, testimonials, etc.
  • Development of an online store
  • Creation of a registration form for the event
  • Improve search engines rankings
  • Design and programming of new web sites for associated companies
  • External website consulting projects
  • Write a documentation to ensure knowledge transfer

More than a simple internship, this project will provide the applicant with a rewarding experience at the end of the world in a multicultural and dynamic team,

Requirements:

The candidate should have the following professional skills:

  • Should have a intermediate Spanish written and oral skills
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP/MySQL
  • Knowledge of Flash would be a plus

The applicant should have the following personal skills:

  • Affinity towards sports, nature, conservation and adventure
  • Have an outgoing, friendly and helpful attitude towards staff and clients
  • Have a high degree of self-initiative and creativity
  • Should work independently and be committed to quality of work
